Survey - Verification of data and processes quality in climate services
The survey assesses Quality Management Systems (QMS) in climate services, collects governance tools used in their design, and identifies gaps and opportunities for recommendations towards standardising QMS.
Summary
In order to build trust and ensure that climate services are fit-for-purpose, the implementation of quality control and assurance procedures is essential. By collecting the methodologies used throughout the climate service community, we aim to identify common practices and potential gaps, which are inclusive of the whole diversity of participants involved in climate services. This effort will help us create a guideline of best practices in quality management of climate services and potentially define aspects mature enough for standardisation.
This survey is for anyone involved in climate services from experts in operational services to data providers, users, researchers, and regulators. All participants involved at any stage in the development, maintenance, and usage of a climate service are welcome to respond.
The survey will close in mid-August 2024, with a second round planned for early 2026.
