The second Climateurope2 Festival brought together the climate services community in Belgrade for three days of exchange, collaboration, and creativity. Under the theme “Empowering society through climate services,” the Festival gathered researchers, policymakers, practitioners, artists, and innovators from across Europe.
Hosted by the Center for the Promotion of Science (CPN), this edition of the Festival took place in Belgrade to reinforce connections with the growing community in Southeast Europe. Discussions throughout the event addressed key topics such as agriculture, health, and the Mission Adaptation in the region. Participants joined plenaries, interactive workshops, and World Café sessions designed to spark dialogue, test new ideas, and encourage informal exchanges. The Marketplace provided space for showcasing ongoing research, tools, and initiatives, creating opportunities for new partnerships and collaborations.
Alongside scientific and policy discussions, the Festival again featured a rich art+science programme. Exhibitions, performances, and installations invited visitors to reflect on climate change through sensory and creative experiences. Highlights included Breathing, a multimedia piece by Arnaud Laffond and winner of the second Climateurope2 art+science call, premiered at the Festival, and M1L3NΛ, a digital installation by Ana Pinter, winner of the first call.
Visitors also experienced the interactive installation “Climate Capsule” and the exhibition “See the Weather,” both exploring the connection between nature, science, and human perception. The Festival also marked the end of the Traveling Climate Action – Roadshow, which visited several cities across Southeast Europe to raise awareness about climate services and climate adaptation.
