First Climateurope2 Webstival
Event open to climate services' users, producers, and other stakeholders
Summary
Science and society dialogues on climate services and innovation
The first Climateurope2 virtual festival brought together policymakers, entrepreneurs, researchers and other experts in the climate and environmental fields to showcase their solutions and discuss the challenges that the climate services community is facing nowadays. The webstival combined different forms of engagement including high-level panels, thematic dialogues, showcases of applied services, as well as other innovative and fun formats to raise awareness, foster dialog, and promote the wider uptake of climate services.
With over 500 registered participants and more than 65 keynote speakers, panellists, and moderators, the webstival featured topics such as the renewable energy transition, sustainable food systems, climate-smart cities, and transformative climate risk assessments for regions and communities engaged in the EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change. Relevant EU-funded projects were invited to organise their own sessions and discuss exciting research topics and findings: ASPECT, CLIMAAX, REACHOUT, PROTECT, E-SHAPE, VitiGEOSS.
