The Standardisation Framework supports a common understanding of the steps required to mature a suite of diverse standards for climate services. It provides a structured approach to identify the information needed to assess minimum requirements, good practices, guidance and opportunities for standardisation, while also recognising those aspects of climate services that may be better addressed through other forms of governance. Through the provision of a decision tree, the framework helps identify where standardisation can add value, where gaps remain, and which alternative approaches can be appropriate.
